On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 9:57 p.m., officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to the first block of West Second Street in Cumberland for a reported breaking and entering that was actively in progress.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female identified as Natarsha Lynn Pownall-Fussell, who alleged that she had been assaulted by a male at the residence and made statements threatening to set the home on fire.

Police then spoke with the homeowner, who advised that Pownall-Fussell had been told multiple times to leave the property. Despite those requests, she reportedly forced entry into the residence and assaulted another occupant who attempted to block her from coming inside.

Following their investigation, officers placed Pownall-Fussell under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected drug paraphernalia in her possession.

She was transported to Central Booking for processing and later appeared before a District Court Commissioner for an initial bond hearing. She is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment.
